Who is Liverpool assistant coach Pep Lijnders, his age, Liverpool salary and intensity book

Pepijn “Pep” Lijnders, a Dutch football manager, was born on January 24, 1983 and is currently 39 years old. He works as an assistant manager of Liverpool in the Premier League.

With PSV Eindhoven, Lijnders began his managerial career in 2002 assisting in player development and youth training. In 2006 he moved to Porto where he helped develop their youth academy using tactical periodization concepts on the 611 project while working under Vtor Fradeo and Luso Castro.

He served as an assistant to Jesualdo Ferreira, André Villas-Boas, Vtor Pereira and Paulo Fonseca while employed at the club. In 2014, he moved to Liverpool where he worked as Jürgen Klopp’s first team coach and assistant manager to Brendan Rodgers.

Lijnders accepted a managerial position at NEC in the Dutch Eerste Divisie on 2 January 2018. He agreed a one-and-a-half-year contract. After NEC lost in the Eredivisie play-off, Lijnders was sacked on 17 May 2018.

On 5 June 2018, he rejoined Liverpool’s coaching staff. He was part of the coaching staff that helped Liverpool to their 19th league championship in the 2019–20 season and sixth UEFA Champions League victory on 1 June 2019.

Meanwhile, for Liverpool, Wolves’ Matheus Nunes will not be able to play for Jurgen Klopp’s side until the 2023-24 season, ending the Reds’ pursuit of a midfielder.

Nunes, 24, was rumored to be moving to Anfield in the summer before Wolves swooped in to sign the Portuguese ace for a club-record £38million. Liverpool reportedly renewed their interest in Nunes earlier this week and have drawn up a plan to snap him up from Molineux in January, according to rumors that emerged earlier this week.

While his salary at Liverpool is unknown, his net worth is estimated at $1-3 million, having published a book titled Intensity about Liverpool’s style and his time at the club.
