1. First of all, spread red colored cloth on the pot.

2. Now install the idol or photo of Lord Dhanvantari, Mata Mahalakshmi and Lord Kubera by sprinkling Gangajal.

3. Light a desi ghee lamp, incense and incense sticks in front of the Lord.

4. Now offer red flowers to the deities.

5. Now whatever metal or utensils or jewelery you have bought on this day, keep it on the post.

6. Recite Lakshmi Stotra, Lakshmi Chalisa, Lakshmi Yantra, Kuber Yantra and Kuber Stotra.

7. During the worship of Dhanteras, chant the mantras of Lakshmi Mata and also offer sweets.
