How to File GST Return Online ?
To file GST returns, first open the GST Portal (www.gst.gov.in) on your laptop, computer or phone.
After that enter your state code and PAN number. Once you enter it, you will get a 15 digit GST Identification Number.
Now upload the challan on the GST portal. A challan reference number will be issued against each challan. After uploading the challan, outward return, inward return, and cumulative monthly return have to be filed online.
During this, if any error occurs, you have the option to rectify it and re-file the GST return.
After doing so, file outward supply return in Form GSTR-1 through the information section on the GST Common Portal (GSTN) on or before 10th of the following month. (GST RETURN)
After filing return of Form GSTR-1, you will be provided with out supply furnished by the supplier in GSTR-2A.
After getting all this information, you have to verify, validity and modify the details of out inward, and also enter the details of credit or debit notes. Then the details of inward supply of taxable goods and services will be asked from you in the GSTR-2 form.
Note: The supplier may accept or reject the modification of the details of inward supplies provided by the recipient in GSTR-1A.
Nil GSTR-1 can be filed through SMS
Explain that to fill Nil GSTR-1 through SMS, typing tax period in the format GSTINMMYYYY and sending an SMS to 14409.
After sending the message, the taxpayer will receive a 6 digit verification code via SMS. Taxpayer needs to send another SMS to 14409 by typing CNFR106 digit verification code.
